On-Air Announcers

Tom Kenlon

Tom is the KEKA announcer who has been with us for the longest amount of time. The anchor of mornings on Thunder Country, Tom is a McKinleyville native who in addition to his love and knowledge of true country music, enjoys sports. Whether it’s rooting on Mack Hi, Humboldt State, the 49ers or his beloved San Francisco Giants, Tom is “all in” for his team.

Music is the dominant element to Tom’s shows. He has the news, weather for the region, regional news and all the other tidbits of information but above all else, Tom loves the music and is always certain to guarantee you get the most country music he can provide as a listener.

You can hear Tom live and local weekdays from 5a – 10a and Sundays on KEKA.

Charlie Bullet

Charlie holds down the mid-day post for KEKA. In addition to the music and hosting the occasional Giants ballgames, he is also the host/producer of the noon hour Lunch with An Attitude weekdays on the station. And then there’s the music. We’ll have contests throughout the middle of the day many times as well as clever comments regarding artists and some of the “goings on” in the country music industry.

Charlie has been involved with local theater and live productions over his years in Humboldt County. He’s the proud Papa of two children and co-hosts The Shopping Show each Saturday morning on the station.

You can hear Charlie live and local weekdays from 3p – 7p on KEKA.

“Dan the Night Man” Williams

Dan is a mechanic by day and an announcer by night, but a passionate Country music fan all the time. Dan is our evening and overnight guy at KEKA. Dan comes in and gives his flavor to the country music you love and adds in a little spice about the artists themselves. This combines nicely for him with a strong passion for the San Francisco Giants which often interrupts the music for Dan. But he has no problem being upstaged by “his team.”

Dan also is heavily involved in his church and brings his musical talents to the front as he coordinates the musical presentations for Sunday services. He and his wife have grown children and are beaming grandparents.
